Wow, it seems like just yesterday that we were all youngins, watching Spongebob and Hey Arnold and Rugrats on TV before we hit the video button and started playing some Playstation. The Backstreet Boys and Nsync had captivated young girls across america, Jessica Simpson and Brittany spears were reaching the height of their careers, Nelly's career was booming and Eminem was the biggest name in rap. 50 cent was discovered by Eminem, and pretty soon G-Unit took over hip-hop. Lil Wayne's the carter was trickling into hip-hop while T.I. was introducing himself to us. Obsessively baggy pants and oversized shirts categorized this era, the world was not perfect, but in a relative calm. The U.S. Economy was continuously expanding. MySpace and facebook were mere concepts, DSL (756KBPS) was the fastest internet available for your home, and walmart was still selling tube televisions. But our world changed. A new president which brought a new hope of a better image of the US government and a conservative government that would cut the clinton tax hikes, keep us out of the world stage, and continue our prosperity in the new millennium, had been elected in 2000. Then on September the 11th 2001, the world was thrust into fear as terrorists killed nearly 3,ooo americans in a matter of hours, changing our world, Although we struck back with a quickness, since 2003 we have been at war, the economy has declined, 1 in 10 americans are out of work, and we've witnessed banks, car companies, and insurance companies get taken over by the government. We have a black president. Young Money has taken over Hip-hop, New Boys represent a new era of boy bands, Nikki Minaj is witnessing her career boom, Eminem took a break, Nelly Disappeared, Our kids have nothing good to watch anymore on TV, Ps3 and xbox 360 are beginning to get outdated, and teens across the nation, across communities and schools, and even across the street are connected through MySpace and Facebook(@3.5MBPS) faster than ever. Today nearly every teen owns a cellphone capable of taking and sending pictures and video that rival digital cameras available in stores. Obsessively Tight Jeans and shirts categorize this era.
Is it just me or did my world turn upside down??? Sometimes this is how i feel, the world im living in now is the opposite of how it was when i grew up. I wore a plaid shirt to school in the seventh grade, and my boy down the street had laughed at me, but all my clothes had been dirty, i didnt think it was too ugly...... it was. LMAO. Now it would be VERY stylish, although it was simply black and red, its squares were a lil small, but it resembles a lot what they sell at against all odds and other urban stores. High waters as we used to call em and tight jeans were laughable too. But culture and society has to grow, it is a part of what makes america unique.
Any comments on this? while you gather your thoughts here's a lil bit on Team Swagga...
In 2009, i met up wit a bunch of younger kids at parties around the valley, they were pretty cool and we hit it off quickly. Party after party the group expanded. Other groups came in, and we decided, why not make it one single group. We decided to call ourselves Team Swagga. It was catchy and original (we thought). The Roster had gone through some changes since the spring of 09, but the Team has gotten stronger. As we all mature and define ourselves, i feel our best times are ahead of us. 2010 will be the beginning of our era. We are at a defining moment, we alone can choose were we go, we have seemingly unlimited potential, and i know the only thing that can stop us is ourselves. I am grateful for everyones support, even though right now we haven't done anything but throw a party, and promote so many others. It is my personal goal to make the list of achievements too long to list on a blog, and to cross multiple spectrums and mediums of entertainment. Thanks again,
